If you're pregnant and are wondering how to keep fit and exercise safely, you've come to the right place!

Aquanatal exercise classes are specifically designed for mums during pregnancy and following birth. All Sydney Aquanatal® Instructors are midwives and specially trained Aquanatal® Instructors. The classes include cardio and strengthening exercises, core and balance exercises, gentle stretching, relaxation and birth preparation as well as a good dose of fun and chat. Every class also includes pelvic floor exercises and education. Aquanatal® is a fun, safe way to exercise. It’s the best way to prepare yourself and your body for the birth of your baby.

Classes are small and personal, with a maximum of 12 participants.  All the exercises are specific for pregnancy and post-natal recovery. The Instructor is in the water with you during the class, ensuring you are participating safely. They will adjust all of the exercises to your specific needs and any special circumstances.

You can begin Aquanatal® from 12 weeks of pregnancy and start again 6 weeks after the birth of your baby.

Class Times & Venues

Aquanatal® classes are available in various venues around Sydney.

Benefits of Aquanatal®

Performed in water.

This makes it much easier to move, exercise and relax your body than on land, especially in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy.

Conducted by an experienced midwife.

This ensures that all exercises are appropriate and safe for you at every stage of your pregnancy.

Feeling of weightlessness.

The buoyancy of the water produces a wonderful feeling of weightlessness and cushions your body against jarring during during exercise.

Reduce and prevent lower back pain.

Research has shown that Aquanatal exercise can reduce and prevent lower back pain in pregnancy more effectively than land-based exercise.

Body positive & birth preparation.

Classes include birth preparation exercises and promote positive body awareness which helps to reduce the symptoms of antenatal and postnatal depression.
